Thanks 4 reading. Probably a silly question but needed your feedback anyway. If you have switched on your laptop, is it okay to plug in the mouse to the PS2 connection? I know USB is hot insertion but not sure about PS2 connections. ....DreeM :)

Thanks for reading. A friend of mine brought a movie (DVD) over the other day for us to watch at my place. It was the movie SWAT and he made a back up copy using DVDXCopy Platinum. My DVD player is region free (region 0) but the movie would not play. I had to change my setting to region 1 to...

Just to let everyone on the forum know that my wife and I have had our baby boy. His name is Preston and he was born on the 25th of November. Weight of 9lb 7oz. :D :D :D VERY PROUD DADDY :) ....DreeM :)

Thanks for reading. Been a long time since I've used this program but I used to use version 3 and if memory serves me correct, you could select a picture and make it into an email link when the mouse is click....the 'mailto:' command. I'm having a bitch of a time figuring out how to do the...

Not suse about other countries but over here in the States there are a couple of TV ads. One is about d/loading audio using Kazaa, Bearshare...etc. Various music artists tell us all not to be naughty boys and girls by stealing songs but to buy the songs. How we are all crippling the music...

People and Computers ! Some people shouldn’t be allowed near a computer never mind own one. I had a call from a friend’s wife. She was trying to use a fax program to receive a fax. Even though I had already shown her, in detail, how to send and receive faxes, she was still having problems. All...

Thanks for reading...not sure which sections to put this one in but here goes anyway. I've got a copy of Nero Express and that works just fine for making Vcd or Svcd disks which play in my stand alone DVD player. I have a program that makes the relevant file, either Vcd standard or Svcd...

Thanks for reading…. Okay I need your help. This might sound like an odd request and I’m not even sure if it’s possible but here goes!! I use a slideshow program to produce slideshows (der!!). The output can be an .exe or you can burn direct to CD-r/w as either a Vcd or SVcd. Also you can...

Thanks for reading. Having problems with 2 computers, a laptop windows 98 and a desktop windows 2000 pro. They are networked together using a wireless system. If I use the desktop, click on "my network places" and then "computers near me" I can see the laptop, access it, copy files, delete...

Decided to put this in the 'just for laughs' section as it's the best place for it. A friend of mine who uses AOL (I know, I know!!), he had lots of trouble getting connected. After months of calls to tech help, they sent him an external modem free of charge. I can't remember the brand or model...

Thanks for reading. I know this works as I’ve done it a number of times but I’m curious as to what exactly is being changed. You have a new computer system with a (for example) 60Gb hard drive. When you run the windows start up floppy only 32Gb of the hard drive capacity is recognized. If you...

Thanks for reading…. After a long time of using a PIII @ 866Mhz with 384Mb Ram PC133, running windows 2000 Pro (sp2) I decided it was time for an upgrade, without spending a fortune. Decided to go for a GA-7VKMLS mobo (so I could continue to use the same memory) and an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ The...

Not quite sure which graphics card I'm after but would appreciate some feedback about this card, as it seems to meet my needs. Is there an alternative I should go after, which is the 'prefered' card of choice? i.e. this card will give me nothing but conflicts and problems??.. The computer...
