I never used to have a problem burning cds at any speed and listening to mp3s at the same time. But these days when ever i start to record a cd in any package while playing winamp, the sound from winamp distorts and crackles until the cd has finished burning. i've tried the asio drivers for...

i've noticed a lot of groups releasing films using xvid and ac3. is xvid seen as a better codec these days? i've been surprised by the quality of some lengthly films over 2 cds when the ac3 audio is included.

a question about something in the dvd to svcd tutorial. you write "5. For DVD Chapters, you need to rip the DVD with the internal ripper. " i rip with smartripper and check the dvd chapter option and it works without internal ripping. if i push the next button on the dvd remote it goes to...

i've had a few problems making vcd or svcd from mpg files I have downloaded. I guess it's due to poor encoding techniques and such after after a few wasted discs and some tests with daemon tools I seem to have found a process that fixes some of the following problems that can happen. 1...

i downloaded an mpg file. i tried builing an svcd using vcdeasy. at first it told me the mpg was probably a dat file renamed to mpg, so i used the tool to convert it. no problems. i load the mpg and let it analyse for a minute, no problems again. i put in chaptering in for 1 every 4 minutes...

i did an svcd using chickenmans guide to convert my dvd. It's a music dvd, fairly basic concert throughout so i guess it's either very compressable or something else went wrong. The length of the concert was about 1hour 10 min, so i decided to use a high audio bitrate and go for 2 cds. i set...

I downloaded this from kazaa. It said it was a DIVX but it isn't. the file extension was .avi but i think this is insignificant. It's a 1hr 50 minute film in 680mb. The quality is reasonable but not great. If i do a properties on it in explorer i cannot see any information about the file...

I have an mpg video file that i want to put a new audio file to. I converted my mp3 to an mp2 but can't seem to mux the mpg and mp2 together. i know the mpg already has audio in it and i would like to replace it with a new audio stream, but how?

i know these threads keep getting closed because of the other guy but i wanted to point out a couple of things. 1. renaming the .dat to mpeg is indeed fine because the file is mpeg. 2. renaming .vob to mpg is fine beacuse vobs are also mpeg. however, the other guy was advising renaming the...

i downloaded and installed this today. it seems nice except for one feature i hate. Anything to do with installing or opening apps prompts the firewall popup asking if i want to permit this or not. All of this stuff has nothing to do with connecting to the internet in anyway. Sure it's nice...

This might sound crazy but i want to convert vcd to svcd. I have a vcd tv series that sits at around 450mb per episode, 4/3 aspect ratio. My theory is that i can convert to svcd to lower the file size to 400mb per episode and get two episodes on a standard 80 minute cd. (can't find 90 minutes...

What kind of movie times are people putting on 1 cd in svcd mode? I understand it also depends on the compressibility of a film but whats the general rule of thumb? Usually i am encoding 16:9 movies with the black borders. I haven't had much chance to experiment yet due to lack of cds and...

i followed the DVD 2 SVCD guide here and have had no success with the subtitiles. I appear to have done it correctly. The program creates a new mpg file for me that is a few mb larger then the original mpg file. I presume this has the subtitiles in them? When i check out the SVCD on my dvd...

I've noticed now that a lot of dvds seem to have an extra 30 minutes or so in the last vob. Usually it's related to the trailer or something, not the actual movie. I am fairly good at making divx and troubleshooting divx problems but now i am looking into SVCD since i got my new dvd player...

sorry if this is the wrong category but i cannot determine where it should go. Deleted the rest Bad Language >> Murder One Please refrain from swearing >>> Tnx >> joripe

Can the quality of mp3pro be retained by converting to mp3 at a higher bitrate? Does the fact it uses a special decoder make convertion possible?

cdrsoft forums is a great place. i'm starting with a fresh user name here but i've been around a while (not for any bad reasons :)). keep up the good work!
