DVD Rebuilder Beta .041 - One Click CCE Backup

Have you tried this yet? Does the entire dvd using CCE to re-encode using a new app which automates the process. Similar to using "The Big Three" but with no hassles.

Check it out here

Yep, I've been playing with this for a while. Lots of initial problems (as expected really) but its getting close. Must get the new ver 0.16 though, thanks.

this is very interesting, and bound to be extremely popular. i use the Big 3 all the time, but if this program can get all the bugs out and work reliably on all dvd structures, i'd gladly jump ship to dvd rebuilder. :D

Well I've finally got the program to work fully after having to upgrade just about everything !!! Results so far for me are bloody fantastic. The use of DVD Stripper to pre-rip out the crap (if there is any you dont want) then let Rebuilder do its job (I'm using CCE 2.50). This should be fantastic for TV episode DVD's, which I'm yet to try.

I spent 2-3 hrs last night re-reading that whole bloody thread ! Okay thanks for that, must grab the latest again.

A quick tute as published by Huesage at Doom9

"OK guys and gals,
Since a lot of people are having similar problems to the ones I was having at the start, I have decided to write a little instalation guide.

Here is a list of things you need to download:

1- Avisynth 2.54 (from doom9 software download page):
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Support...viSynth_254.exe

2- DVD2AVI dg (from doom9 software download page):
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Decoders/decodefix100.zip

3- EclCCE 1.7b (from doom9 forum, link in one of the posts):
http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/eclcce.zip
you only need this if you are using CCE SP 2.50, you do NOT need it for 2.6x and above.

4- DVD Rebuilder 0.16 or latest version available (from doom9 forum, link in this thread):
http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=459634

5- CCE SP 2.50 or CCE SP 2.66 (from doom9 software download page, trial versions):
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Encoders/MPEG2/cspte250.exe
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Encoder...2/ccespt266.exe

Here is the instalation process:

1- install Avisynth 2.54

2- extract all the contents of DVD2AVI dg (decodefix100.zip) directly into the Avisynth 2.54 "plugins" folder
ie: C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins

3- install the version of CCE you want to work with. If you installed CCE SP 2.50 go to step 4, if not, go directly to step 5.

4- extract "eclcce.zip", run it and point it too your CCE SP 2.50 executable
ie: C:\Program Files\Custom Technology\Cinema Craft Encoder SP\cctsp.exe

5- extract DVD Rebuilder 0.16 (dvd-rbv016.zip) or later
- run it
- click on "options" menu then "setup"
- here you have to point the APROPRIATE box to your EclCCE.exe or cctsp.exe depending on the version of CCE used
ie: If using CCE SP 2.50: C:\Program Files\eclcce\EclCCE.exe (in the "Path to CCE Pro 2.50" box)
ie: If using CCE SP 2.6x and above C:\Program Files\Custom Technology\cctsp.exe (in the "Path to CCE Pro (New))

6- make sure you also go to the "Options" menu, "CCE Options" and check the correct version of CCE you are using ;-)

7- if any of your source video is interlaced, make sure to go to "Options", "AVS Options" and check "ConvertToYUY2(interlaced=true)".

I hope that this has been helpful to some of you and that it does not cause any trouble because of links or space it has taken on the thread. This is only meant to be a help to Jdobbs who has worked so hard and has accomplished so much.

NOTE: Please do not take this guide word for word, it is only meant to help you, send you in the right direction and save you some time. you might have to do things a little different than it is mentioned in here. GOOD LUCK !!"

Its changing daily at the moment ! Surely he has to sleep sooner or later :D

I've used it on 3 very different dvd's, a main movie with some extras NTSC, a PAL TV episode and one that has the main movie split in 2 VOB sets PAL. All have encoded and playbacked perfectly.

I just tried my first dvd and all seemed to go well until it was almost done, but then i received a run-time error '9' (subscript out of range).
Anyone know what that indicates?

0.31 out now, another day another version. :D

Just encoded The Game using this and CCE 2.50 and it took just under 5 hours to do a 3 pass on a 1.8 Athlon which I guess was not bad.

Results seem spot on using latest version and no sign so far of any bugs reported in previous versions.

Will CCE Basic do a decent job as opposed to CCE SP????

I just tried DVD Rebuilder using the CCE SP trial. I did Shindler's List and the quality was awesome( except the Cinema Craft logo was present). I am thinking of purchasing CCE Basic and using this with DVD Rebuilder. Will I have the same quality using CCE Basic as CCE SP?????

Thanks for the smartass answer, but I was hoping for something more informative. What level of quality difference will I see ( and don't say $2000 worth of difference ) :) ????
Seriously, will using CCE Basic to compress a large movie ( say 7 GIGS for just the movie) be significantly better than say using DVD Shrink with compression for the same movie????
