Norton Antivirus 2001 subscription extender

Does anyone have the Norton Antivirus 2001 subscription extender. Ya know the little proggie that extends your Norton AV subscription another year (or more). I remember someone posting this file a while back...but could not find it after searching this forum. Perhaps I'm calling it the wrong name?!

I have a family member overseas that needs to extend her subscription for some time until I can get her a CDR copy of a better AV soft.

Thanks for your help!

Here ya go m8. ;)

You have to be careful though. I found that after one of the updates to the "Live Update" prog it don't work any more.:(

So don't load any Live update updates if you catch my drift. All other updates are fine as far as I could tell.

"noliupen.zip" file works great

The noliupen file works great.
I know because I have already tried it.

Hey thanks Laz!
Since its been some time since I've used this proggie...she will only be using NortonAV for virus protection only. She does the automatic AV updates only. So you are saying that after her first AV update...it will no longer update?!

This is probably due to the file being too greedy. Adding 10,000 + days is a little greedy and having an update subscription that long is a red flag to Norton who may be catching it and stutting it down. Sadly this file can not be edited (gibberish in txt) to a more reasonable amount of time.

@roadworker...thanks for this one as it would be ideal as it only gives you one more year. Sadly it works for NortonAV 5.0 aka 2000. I need NortonAV 6.0 aka 2001. Anyone have this one?

Damn it!

I uploaded the wrong one then dxkim.

Looks like RW upped the one I meant to. Well the one year one works fine on the 2001 version for sure, what I was saying was that all A/V software updates are no problemo. I found it was any updates to the Live Update and Live Reg programme itself stopped you updating via the crack. So download all the updates apart from those. ;)

But the one RW gave you works on all upto and including 2001 editions.

Is there a subscription extender for Norton Antivirus 2002?
Does 2001 subscription extender work over NAV 2002?
The one I tried didn't work.:(
HOWEVER, there's a stupid trick that works (at least it has worked for me): changing the date of your system before installing the AV. I discovered it accidentally: last time I reinstalled Windows, it defaulted to year 2012 instead of 2002. I didn't realize for some weeks & I installed NAV, so I got a complimentary 1 year of upgrades, till 2013. :D And it didn't complain when I put the date back to normal: I've been using it, with all the features, for some months now. I couldn't believe it !

Installed NAV 2002 few days ago so I'm not sure if this works!
Anyway, you can try it.

Of course, if it works, post!

Sorry folks had to remove the attachment - new Forum rules!

I tried this before and while it does set the date to 2028 or 2024, I don't remember. When you run liveupdate, it will change it so the subscription expires in 368 days or so instead. Is that what you've experienced when opening Norton AntiVirus after doing the liveupdate?

Yes, before the update it claims about 10,000 days, but after update it changes to 368 days. No problems on the updates (so far) though.

I guess what it does is it just adds 1 year from the date you run it so people can't have 5 year subscriptions... You can keep replace the file whenever you need to for another year :)

re: Jasmin

For LiveUpdates until 29/12/2029. replace your 'Catalog.LiveSubscribe' file with the one
included, you should find the existing file in either...

Win 9X/Me :- C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe
Win 2K/XP :- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe

*Please make a back-up of your existing file, you may very well need it back and I ain't gonna send you a new one! ;)

updated

:) Well still don't know why it won't open.
but what the hell if it works don't screw with it!

And it does

Thanks Jasmin

Hi crater!

Don't be angry, I didn't screw with anythin', man!!!

I just did copy/paste from readme1st.txt.
So: "*Please make a back-up of your existing file, you may very well need it back and I ain't gonna send you a new one!" are not my words, that is just the end of readme file!!!

Do you really think that I will not send you a file that you need & I got???

Thanks to jasmin & roadworker

have downloaded your files, they are the same; and i can open/extract both;
will wait before applying, till the year is gone and my little questions are answered:

Does it match with Norton InternetSecurity 2002 and SystemWorks Professional 2002?
Or does it enable only LiveUpdate for AntiVirus and the rest (Firewall, CleanSweap ...) will never been updated?

Greetings from
Duracell
