Win98+GeForce2 drivers

Hi,
I installed clear installation of Win98 and try to install nVidia Detonators to get drivers for graphics (Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX 400).
But when the progress bar get's to 60%, a new window pop's up and say the installation need to restart computer. I select yes and it restart's comp after short time.
But when I boot Windows again, comp says there is some problems with screen settings and need to set up resolution. It show settings window and there are possibilities to set up:
resolution/color depth
640x480/16 bits
800x600/8 bits
1024x768/8 bits
There is no way to set up 1024x768/16 bits as I used to have.
After I set anything to anything (resolution or color depth) and press Apply button, settings return to 640x480/4 bits and Windows want to restart computer.
Then I tried to install mainboard support drivers to clean installation of Win98 and trie to install graphics drivers, but results was the same.

My comp is:
GigaByte GA-7VAX1394
Athlon XP 1800+
1024 MB DDR 333 Twinmos
Inno3D GeForce 2 MX 400
WD400BB
TEAC CDW-540E
LiteOn DVD 163

after installing Detonator, rebooting and selecting resolution, try to reinstall your monitor driver (in device manager) and disable monitor Plug&Pray option (in display settings);

Windows always detect my monitor to Relisys and installs default drivers. To what (which monitor) should I reinstall it?
And when I get comp restarted after installing Detonators, I'm not able to set resolution. I've described it...

I've installed motherboard drivers from CD, which was included with motherboard. Do you think, those drivers may be bad?

Hyperion drivers may be the reason for that problem. I have just watched for it and there is mentioned that Win98 users may achieve problams with older versions... :-( I will try newer version.

Yes, it is TECO brand. I don't have any inf file for it. I didn't found any on the net. I don't even remember the number of it. May it be 752 or so? It's 15 inch.

and i read it; ;-)
i mean you should choose the bad resolution;
install the monitor driver;
reboot;
now choose your favorit resolution;

but for now like the always renamed Master told:
try the latest WHQL chipset AGP drivers, latest WHQL Detonator and latest monitor *.inf ("driver")

Sometimes extracting the files and installing using the INF as a normal driver install, works better than Nvidia's setup.

7-zip seems to be pretty good at opening their SFX installer! - www.7-zip.org

4 Master:
My monitor is TE572F and is not included in pack you attach.

I tried new VIA Hyperion, no result. Now I'm downloading Detonators 42.30 WHQL to test it all again.

Please try to find .inf file for Relisys TE572F or RE572F. I'm not able to find any.

42.30 is only WHQL for Gf FX cards!
you should better try an older version which is comletly WHQL also for your Gf 2MX 400;

sometimes the M$ online update provides an Monitor.inf even when manufacturers HP doesn't it;

The catch is, that searching nVidia Win98 driver archive I found, that latest WHQL certificated was 30.82. Next versions was only candidates for certificate.
